It is presently owned by Hazel Gardner, the widow of Charles Aitken Gardner. Charles was a grandson of the Matthew Gardner of Rock Cottage mentioned above. On the back of the photograph is written "Mr. William Gardner, Merchant in Glasgow. February 1866." The photographer's label on the back reads "Low Photographer, 74 Jamaica Street, Glasgow."
