    WEDDINGS

    MASON - GARDNER

A pretty wedding was solemnized at St. David’s Presbyterian church when Margaret Watson (Rita), third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Gardner, Laughton Ave., was untied in marriage to Mr. George R. Mason, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Mason of Edinburgh, Scotland.  Rev. N. Stevenson officiated.  The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a dress of white pussy willow crepe with bridal veil surmounted with wreath of orange blossoms and carried a shower bouquet of white roses, lily of the valley and white heather (the latter being sent specially from Scotland for the happy event).  Miss Annie C. Gardner, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and wore a dress of coral and silver taffeta with black picture hat and carried a bouquet of Ophelia roses and baby’s breath.  Mr. George Forbes ably assisted the bridegroom as groomsman.  Miss Ross provided the wedding music and Mr. A. J. Cooper (blinded war veteran), sang “For You Alone” during the signing of the register.  A reception was afterwards held at the home of the bride’s parents, Laughton Ave.  Later in the day the happy couple left for a short trip.  On their return they will reside at 90 Ashburnham Ave.
