AIR APPOINTMENT

Gardner W. (Dick) Carr, a 30-year veteran of the aviation industry, has been named assistant to the president of Marquardt Aircraft Co., Van Nuys, Calif.
Carr, who began his aviation career with the United States Air Services in Dayton, Ohio, served 14 years as a Boeing Airplane Co. official.
When he left Boeing's in the late 1930's, Carr was a vice president and director.  He held such jobs as Boeing purchasing agent and vice president in charge of manufacturing.
After leaving Boeing's, Carr became vice president of the Glenn L. Martin Co. of Baltimore, later serving as executive vice president of the McDonnell Aircraft Co. of St. Louis.
