    CORP. G. D. GARDNER WOUNDED

    Corp. G. D. Gardner, 184 Queen st. west, was wounded by gunshot in the head on Jan. 27.  He enlisted in December, 1915, and went overseas as a corporal in August, 1916.  He reverted to the ranks in order to get to France, after the battle of Fresnoy he was commended for special bravery and regained his rank as corporal.

    Corp. Gardner was born in Barrow, England, 21 years ago and has been in Canada eight years.  He was well-known in football circles and was secretary of the Parkview team.  A younger brother went overseas three months ago.
