    WEDDINGS

    HILLIS - GARDNER

College Street Presbyterian Church was the scene of a pretty wedding on Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 2 p.m. when Agnes Alexander, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gardner, 376 Concord avenue, was united in marriage with James, second son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hillis, Belfast, Ireland.  The bride, who was given away by her father, wore white duchesse satin and georgette, and an embroidered veil surmounted by a crown of orange blossoms and carried a bouquet of white roses.  The duties of the bridesmaid were gracefully performed by Miss Nettie Gardner, sister of the bride, who wore a becoming dress of pale blue taffeta with large picture hat, and carried a bouquet of pink roses.  The groom was attended by his brother, Mr. Wm. Hillis, the ceremony being performed by Rev. E. A. Earchman, B.A.  After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents.  Later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. J. Hillis left for their honeymoon, the bride traveling in a navy blue tailored suit with hat to match.
